In September, 2020 Anchor Ridge entered into an agreement to purchase our first West Virginia Community Center! The total cost to purchase and renovate this center was $35,000. Because the building is old and has sat vacant for several years, the needed renovations are extensive.

As we stepped out-on-faith to say YES to the purchase of this building, we knew that God would show up and provide the funding needed. With the help of many faithful friends and supporters of the Organization, we were able to raise about $15,000 towards the needed goal for this project. As the team continued to pray that this need would be met, the Lord showed up!

Pastor Greg Locke from Global Vision Bible Church in Mt. Juliet, TN contacted Josh Paul and invited him to come visit his church and share Anchor Ridge with his church family. As Josh attended the GVBC service on a Sunday afternoon under the tent, Pastor Greg called him to the stage. Once on stage, as Josh was sharing the vision and mission of Anchor Ridge,  Pastor Greg asked what the remaining need was for the purchase and opening of this much needed community center. Once hearing the need was still about $20,000, Pastor Greg committed Global Vision Bible Church to meeting the need….and they did!

It’s what a thankful heart that we share the West Virginia Community Center – PHASE 1 is FULLY FUNDED!

This center will serve as a beacon of Hope in the community by being a safe, welcoming place for families to come receive life-sustaining provisions and hear and experience the goodness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Once renovations are complete, this center will host mission teams from around the country to serve the local area. We will be able to provide a clean place for teams to sleep, minister and serve the local community through many outreach projects and initiatives.

Currently, volunteer construction teams are working to “gut” the building. Once this process is complete, the building will require new plumbing, electrical wiring and new construction of walls, flooring and other renovation projects.

Stay tuned for updates on the opening of this Community Center!
