Today, October 1st, begins Anchor Ridge’s busiest season. As temperatures drop across Appalachia, families face rising heating costs, children need warm coats, and parents worry about Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gifts.

By December 24th, we need to move at least 25 trucks, with more likely needed. The final scheduled trucks will carry Christmas toys to children in various remote regions of Appalachia. Transportation averages $850 per truck, making our minimum goal $21,250. Each truck carries about $200,000 worth of supplies on average, meaning every dollar toward transportation helps deliver over $200 worth of supplies to children and families, that’s over 200 TONS of supplies!!

We must also remain ready to dispatch within hours of a disaster with emergency supplies and hot meals. That’s why we’re launching Keep Hope Moving today. Will you help move a truck? Give $850 to cover one truck’s transportation, or give any amount to help get supplies into the hands of Appalachian families.
