DECEMBER 20th, 2022 – WILKES COUNTY, NC 

More than 1,500 families were served food and Christmas items in a drive-thru car line Dec. 20 at Anchor Ridge in North Wilkesboro.

Josh Paul, president of the North Wilkesboro-based nonprofit ministry, had to close the down the car line after 12 hours of serving a long line of cars that at times stretched for several miles on River Road/Liberty Grove Road.

Paul called the turnout “amazing,” adding, “It was a great day. We ended up serving over 3,000 people by the end of the day.”

More than 250,000 pounds of Christmas goodies were distributed to the needy. It included 30,000 pounds of donated chicken from Tyson Foods Inc., Jimmy Dean sausages, Ballpark franks, hams, Christmas gifts, home good supplies, groceries, socks and more new items.
