Who We Are

Our Mission:

Bring the Hope of Jesus Christ to families living in severe poverty throughout the Appalachian Mountains of America.

We do this by partnering with communities and churches all around the country. We work in impoverished areas to provide families with basic needs and to see hope restored to children and their communities.

Hot Meals

For some children in the mountains, a warm meal is a rare luxury. Sometimes, the only hot meal a child receives is at school. Anchor Ridge prepares a hot meal at each outreach event, because we know that for some, especially while school is out for summer, it has been a while since they had a good meal.

Groceries

Every family who attends an outreach event receives bags of nutritional groceries and snacks for the whole family.

Coats And Shoes

Appalachian winters can be very harsh.  Most families in the areas we serve simply cannot afford the basics for their children.  Anchor Ridge ensures every child who attends an outreach event is provided with a warm winter coat, gloves, scarf and hat.  We also provide seasonal footwear.

Toiletries and Cleaning Supplies

A child’s health heavily depends on the environment in which they live.  We ensure children have access to basic items such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, along with cleaning supplies and paper products for their household.

Toys for Children

Appalachian families spend their money for survival. In towns where there are literally no jobs, they have to conserve the small amounts of money they receive. Anchor Ridge wants these children to experience being a child while they still can! We want to make sure that they get at least one brand new toy, especially at Christmas.  Most families tell us they stopped celebrating Christmas with presents a long time ago. There is simply no money.
Why do we take serving in the Appalachian Mountains so seriously?
1 John 3:17 reads “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”  More than anything, this world needs to see the love of Jesus! Putting hands and feet on His commandments not only helps the families who need it most, but it sparks a fire deep in our soul that becomes contagious throughout the world to show His love and to lend a helping hand.  Let’s shine with His love!

“I’ve never seen anything like it.  Some of these towns look like third world countries.  Going on a mission trip with Anchor Ridge changed my life forever.”

Volunteer

“When you see the little children run up to you with dirty faces and no shoes on their feet, you realize it is worth every minute and every effort to bring these supplies to the kids.  I’m glad to be part of a ministry that truly is the hands and feet of Jesus”

Our Statement Of Faith

The Word of God

The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God.

(Psalm 119; Mathew 4:4; Luke 24:27)

Man’s Fall and Redemption

Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness.” Man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ.

(Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Ro. 5:12-21)

The Salvation of Man

Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

(Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Sanctification Process

By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word.

(Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; 1 Thess. 5:23-24; 1 John 2:6).

The Church

The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

(1 Thess. 2:4)

Ministry

Divinely called and Scripturally ordained, ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world (proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Salvation by grace through faith in Him), and (2) The edification of the Body of Christ.

(Mark 15:16, 20; Eph. 4:11-13)

Divine Healing

We believe deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is the privilege of all believers.

(Isa. 53:4; Matt. 8:16-17; Mark 16:18; John 5:14)

Anchor Ridge is an independent, Christian-Faith based 501c3 non-profit organization. We are interdenominational and are honored to serve with groups from all denominations, independent organizations and all backgrounds.
